I'm still trying to find the best spot for some good super telephoto sunset shots. I didn't find anything quite like I was looking for but did end up in a decent spot east of Elm Creek.
Unharvested field of milo. Its been a little wet for the framers around here.
Some sort of wild flowers I think.
Cessna Road. This road is one of the main roads south of Amherst.
Some combines were stiring up the dust which made a cool effect at sunset.
Later that night we went northwest of town toward Amherst to get some moonlit landscapes. We ended up at this cool cemetery south of Amherst.
You can see a few ghosts in this picture. Yikes! :O
And here's part of Michael. :P

Wed, Nov 4, 2009, 2:48pmMichael TillotsonAll the cemetery photos were taken in the moonlight. The long exposure makes it look like daytime, except that you can see the stars.
Some of you might be worried about the ghosts in the cemetery. Don't worry, it's just me and Benjamin!

A cemetery is a great place to reflect on the realities of life.
"Man who is born of woman
Is of few days and full of trouble.
He comes forth like a flower and fades away;
He flees like a shadow and does not continue"

Sat, Nov 7, 2009, 6:34pmRachel COkay, whoa! For some reason I just now noticed the stars-the long exposure really does make it look like it's daytime.

That's so cool how you can make it do that.
Sun, Nov 8, 2009, 6:14pmBenjaminThere is something called a shutter and a sensor in every digital camera. When you open the shutter it exposess the available light to the sensor. The longer you expose the light to the sensor the "brighter" that light becomes. The exposure time on these last moonlit pictures was around 2-3 min. If we had used the same settings but left the shutter open for about 15 min. the image would be over exposed, in other words it would look to "bright". It works the same for a film camera as well. I hope this makes sense.
